Annual Blessing Basket event returns this Saturday

LYNN — Minton Regan Homes is hosting its third annual Blessing Basket event this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Brotherhood Credit Union at 75 Market St.

Jean-Marie Minton, of Minton Regan Homes, said she started the event in 2022 with her neighbors in the Diamond District. The goal was to donate Thanksgiving “Blessing Baskets” with non-perishable foods to the elementary schools in Ward 3 – Aborn, Brickett, and Hood.

Ward 3 City Councilor Coco Alinsug has helped contribute to the event’s success, Minton said.

The event collected 75 baskets during 2022 and another 130 the following year.

“The teachers and principals were just overjoyed with the generosity of the people of Lynn,” Minton added.

The event has expanded to include Harrington Elementary School and the goal is to collect 250 Blessings Baskets this year.

“My vision is that we can expand this slowly, but surely, across the city,” Minton said. “I want the Lynn residents to be able to bless as many of those families in need.”

Community members are encouraged to reach out to Minton at 617-751-0312 or [email protected] with any questions.
