Saugus Football tradition kicks off toy drive

SAUGUS — Saugus High School football team’s pancake breakfast tradition returns at Saugus Middle High School on Nov. 24 at the SMHS cafeteria on 1 Pierce Memorial Dr.

The breakfast is hosted by Friends of Saugus High School Football, and Saugus Youth Football will also be attending this year. Santa Claus will be at the breakfast as well, ready to take pictures with everyone.

Tickets are being pre sold on Venmo at FriendsofSHSfootball, or can be purchased at the door. The cost for kids is $5, and adults $10. All proceeds go toward the high school and youth football programs.

The pancake breakfast will also kick off the Sachem Friends Toy Drive.

Tara Buono-Stackhouse and her boyfriend, Kevin Andrews, have been involved with the event for 10 years.

“We take unopened toys, gift cards, etc., and we help out those Saugus families in need,”  Buono-Stackhouse wrote on Facebook.

She also said while the breakfast begins the toy drive, there will also be drop-off spots at the Marleah E. Graves (MEG) building after Thanksgiving.

The dates are still to be announced, but any businesses that would like to sponsor a drop-off box can contact Buono-Stackhouse via Facebook.
