You know what I’ve been thinking? Lynnfield quarterback Tyler Adamo did everything he was asked to do Friday night – and then some.
Talk about efficiency. In a road matchup against Wakefield, the gunslinger threw the ball just 14 times, going 9-for-14 with 170 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran the ball just six times, but racked up 54 yards.
Better yet, Adamo went home with no interceptions or fumbles.
Let’s see. He tossed touchdown passes to Jesse Dorman (2), Madux Iovinelli, and Jared Bernabei. The highlight was a 55-yard bomb to Dorman, who took it to the house in the second quarter.
Adamo has been wheeling-and-dealing through two games. Even in a loss to still-undefeated North Attleborough in Week 1, he threw for more than 150 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown pass to – guess who – Dorman.
After capturing Cape Ann League Player of the Year honors last season, the senior is, frankly, on track to repeat – if you ask me. Last fall, Adamo delivered a 129.6 passer rating, completing 124 passes for 1,974 yards and 20 touchdowns.
The Pioneers visit Ipswich at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Will Adamo stay hot in enemy territory? Only time will tell, but the Pioneers won last season’s matchup, 42-0.
Tyler, good week.
