No home field, no problem. Lynn Tech’s football team hit the road to face Montachusett Friday night, returning with a 27-26 victory.
Junior Colin McGough scored a late touchdown to tie the game, then freshman kicker Daniel Lerum converted the extra point to give Tech its lead.
“Then, we kicked an onside kick and Lerum recovered that, too,” said Tech coach James Runner. “So, the freshman did his job tonight.”
Speaking of doing his job, freshman Anthony Brown (142 yards rushing, TD) of the Tigers ran for 130 yards by halftime before dislocating his shoulder in the second half.
Tech (1-1) visits Saugus (1-1) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Connor Bloom connected on two extra-point attempts to round out the scoring.

Bernabei rushed for a touchdown in the third quarter to put the game away for Lynnfield, which also racked up three interceptions.
