Large fire reported at Old Towne Market in Lynnfield

LYNNFIELD — The Fire Department responded to a fire, which escalated to a five-alarm blaze, around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at 8 Post Office Square.

The fire occurred at the Old Towne Market, a single-story strip mall near Salem Street, and heavy fire coming through the building’s roof was reported.

The Peabody, Woburn, Reading, Revere, Chelsea, and Melrose fire departments and Lynnfield Police Department also responded.

As of 11:20 p.m., firefighters were still working to knock the fire down.
