PEABODY — The Peabody Fire Department responded to a working fire at 21 Lone Pine Lane, thanks to a call that came in at 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Fire Chief Jay Dowling said.

Engine 4 was the first on the scene and was followed by three other engines and responses from EMTs and the Police Department.

A neighbor heard the fire alarm at the residence and notified the homeowner, who was down the street with her grandchildren, Dowling said.

No one else was home when the incident occurred, he said.

The homeowner noticed smoke coming from the vicinity of the dishwasher, Dowling said.

The firefighters on the scene quickly knocked down the fire, he said. No one was injured from the incident.
