BOSTON — As if this traditional rivalry needed more theatrics, the Swampscott and Marblehead varsity football programs will be squaring off at Fenway Park on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m.
The showdown replaces the usual Thursday morning game on Thanksgiving Day. It’s part of a four-game series titled “High School Football at Fenway.”
Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard square off that Tuesday, followed by a matchup between Stoneham and Reading. The next day, Lawrence and Central Catholic play before Swampscott and Marblehead.
Marblehead won last year’s Thanksgiving matchup, 28-21, at Blocksidge Field to extend its winning streak to 11 games against the Big Blue.
